Pete Schaw High Sierra Music Festival Poster

Pete Schaw did the poster for the High Sierra Music Festival poster which sold out over the weekend. This is an 18"x 24" 4 color print on French Nightshift Blue paper. There are two metallic inks, gold and silver.

I asked Pete about his design:
It was an honor to be asked to design a poster to commemorate the 25th annual High Sierra Music Festival. This is a great festival with tons of amazing bands set in a beautiful location, so I really wanted to do something special that captured the energy and mood of the place. I decided to construct the whole thing to look like it was made from broken tile, like many of the mosaic pieces of Ancient Greece and Rome. This approach proved to be very labor intensive to illustrate, but the end result was something I hoped would be a fresh take on a classic style.

The diving swallows, bees, sunshine, and the rolling tree lined hills were many of the elements that reminded me of the festival and summer as a whole. Hopefully people who attend relate to these themes and appreciate my take on this great festival.

This poster was part of the continual Conscious Alliance "Art That Feeds" food drive campaign. The first 250 who donated 20 non perishable food items or suggested monetary donation received this limited edition print. All donations went to benefit the Community Assistance Network in Quincy, CA.

The poster is on sale now at his Etsy shop HERE. There is also a small number of the black variant.
